After graduating with a degree in marketing and management from Wichita State University, she and her husband AJ relocated to the Manhattan area. She has been working in the Manhattan real estate profession since 2009, offering both buyer and seller representation in Manhattan and the surrounding areas.

Melissa is a member of the Flint Hills Association of Realtors, Kansas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Girls on the Run board, Boys and Girls Club event committee member, past vice-president of the Friends of the Sunset Zoo board and past Rookie of the Year recipient. She is also a member of the 2019 Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Leadership class.
